Burlington Prosecutor Misses the Point

No comments on “Burlington Prosecutor Misses the Point”

On February 11, 2008, after learning that the Mount Holly Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA) had failed to record executive session meeting minutes for at least ten years, in blatant violation of the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA), I asked Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi to do more to ensure compliance with the OPMA by public agencies within Burlington County.

I received a February 19, 2008 response from Assistant Prosecutor Thaddeus E. Drummond informing me that he had contacted the MUA's attorney about the ten-year lapse, but his letter did not address the larger issue of his office's proper role in generally enforcing the OPMA.

All the correspondence, including my March 4, 2008 reply to Drummond, is on-line at: http://www.lpcnj.org/OGTF/MtHollyMUA1.pdf

No comments on “The Party of Ron Paul?”

Now that Ron Paul's presidential campaign is winding down many of his supporters are looking for a place to turn. Both the Libertarian Party and the Constitution party share similar beliefs.

In response to members of the Constitution party claiming Ron Paul supporters should join them I've put together a matrix of many of those beliefs in comparison to Ron Paul's stances.

Here is an interview of so called Libertarian candidate, Daniel Imperato, being interviewed on New York's Capital Outsider .  He puts forth many unlibertarian principles.  He believes the federal government should ban abortion, is anti-gay marriage, pro-Patriot act, pro-FDA and wants to create new government run charities. He wants us to go into Afghanistan and destroy their soil.

He has some bizzare ideas. We really should prescreen our candidates in someway.

8 Criteria For Choosing Our Libertarian Presidential Candidate

csportrait.jpg.w200h.jpg What's the criteria setting one candidate apart from another?

It's not the platforms usually. Serious Libertarian candidates, of course, share basic Libertarian principles. They may indeed differ on individual issues, but generally they agree on most issues since as Libertarians they share a fundamental dedication to liberty and freedom.

Since candidates are not usually unique in the Libertarian platform they espouse, how do we select the best presidential candidate for our party?

Despite the budget problem, our legislature is finding lots of money to throw around. They continue to expand the size and cost of NJ government. If we ran our own house like this we would soon be in big trouble.

Notable recent bills include:

It is of utmost importance that we all attend as many of the Corzine Big Government Love Fests that we can. Even if you don't ask questions you can sit in the audience and make oinking sounds! Call, write, and/or meet with Corzine and your state legislator and let them know that you demand cuts in the size of NJ state government.

This past Saturday, Steve Lonegan was peacefully handing out flyers and holding a sign outside of one of Corzine's rally in Cape May. He was arrested, shackled, and charged with trespassing!

After many years of overspending by both Republican and Democratic administrations, NJ state finds itself in a fiscal mess. Instead of tackling the root cause of a bloated state government, our governor has launched a plan to transfer debt and to squeeze more money out of the taxpayers.

Assemblyman Anthony Chiappone (D-31) is following in the footsteps of former legislators who proposed ending fishing and hunting in New Jersey by removing sportsmen and farmers from the New Jersey Fish & Game Council, thus creating a non-lethal committee within the council to deal with so-called “wildlife conflicts.”

Congressman, Presidential candidate, and former Libertarian Presidential candidate Ron Paul has been attacked by many.  Several have tried to pin the "racist" tag on him.

Nelson Linder, president of the Austin National Association of Colored People during an interview with Alex Jones has stated, "Knowing Ron Paul's intent, I think he is trying to improve this country but I think also, when you talk about the Constitution and you constantly criticize the federal government versus state I think a lot of folks are going to misconstrue that....so I think it's very easy for folks who want to to take his position out of context and that's what I'm hearing," said Linder.

"Knowing Ron Paul and having talked to him, I think he's a very fair guy I just think that a lot of folks do not understand the Libertarian platform"

© New Jersey Libertarian Party 1972 - 2026

The NJ Libertarian Party is NJ's third largest political party, founded in 1972. Our vision is for a world in which all individuals have the right to exercise sole control over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live as they choose. Our goal is to build a political party that elects Libertarians to public office, and moves public policy in a libertarian direction.
