Notice of Receipt of Petition for Rulemaking

Restricting the Ability of or Providing Discipline for New Jersey Police Officers Who "Cut Breaks" to Fellow Police Officers or their Family Members

Petitioner: New Jersey Libertarian Party

Take notice that, on August 23, 2011, the Attorney General referred to the Director of the Division of Criminal Justice a petition for rulemaking from the Libertarian Party of New Jersey requesting that the Attorney General issue a rule restricting the ability of or providing discipline for New Jersey police officers who "cut breaks" to fellow police officers or their family members. Petitioner requested the rule under the Attorney General's authority pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act of 1970, N.J.S.A. 52:17B-97 to 117.

In accordance with the provisions of N.J.A.C. 1:30-4.2, the Division will subsequently mail to the petitioners and file with the Office of Administrative Law a notice of action on the petition.
